Here’s a listing, in no particular order, of some of our favorite places to sleep, play, eat and experience in Belize, the US and Europe. Be sure to check back often as this will be updated!
- While on our March 2014 trip out west, near Zion National Park, we stayed with Michele and JC at the BEAUTIFUL XbarH Lodge in Orderville, UT. The lodge is situated between Zion and Bryce Canyon National Park. It’s a pet friendly place with chickens running free and a rooster named General Tso! Gotta love a place with warm and friendly owners with a wealth of knowledge about the area and a huge sense of humor to boot! Although we wanted to stay at the (separate) Mesa Cabin, it was booked at the time, so we splurged and went with the spacious and very comfortable Mountain Suite. Looking forward to our next stay!
- I had the fortune of backpacking in Europe for six weeks and stayed with a couple from Brazil and the Netherlands that opened a bed and breakfast in Bavaria, Munich (Müchen). Zeevat in Munich is a quaint home near the Eurail system that offers comfortable accommodations and a delicious traditional German breakfast. Although I’m not a beer drinker, I HAD to visit the original Hofbräuhaus. Treat yourself to an about an hour and a half train ride to Neuschwanstein Castle in the heart of Bavaria…SOOO worth it! Be sure you take the tour and explore the exterior as well…including the high bridge to get a full view of the castle.
