So this how it all came to be…

It all started in the early summer of 2012…

I was asked by Paul, “Where do you want to go on vacation for winter break?”  Having been to beautiful Arizona before, my knee-jerk reply was that, of course!  Being met with a less than stellar response, he said “Let’s go somewhere a little more exciting.”  Those words rolled around in my head as I faded off into a daydream of more exciting!  More exciting? I had thought…he’s never been there to witness the amazing flora and fauna, the saguaro, petroglyphs, Sedona, Flagstaff, Tucson, Canyon De Chelly, Havasupai Falls, Window Rock, Slide Rock State Park  and not to mention, the Grand Canyon and everything in-between.  *shrug*  After a quick thought of Costa Rica, I suggested Belize.  “Belize? Where is that?”

Needless to say, after 4 short days on Ambergris Caye and 3 even shorter days in San Ignacio, we were smitten!  Within a month after returning from our vacation, Paul came home from work one day and excitedly proclaimed “I’ve been in contact with a realtor!”  Thinking he meant here in town (Cleveland), I was gobsmacked to learn he meant Ambergris Caye!  We went back during Easter break 2013, looked at 7 different properties and bought our little slice of paradise on Ambergris Caye in March 2013.  We are a looooog way out from building there and this blog will serve as a portal for the transition to island life.  A plot of sand with 2 palm trees for now…big dreams lie ahead!

So begins our adventures of “Cleveland to San Pedro!”

  1. This is an awesome story. I love to read about people finding a way to make their dreams come true. Good luck as you continue the transition. And, of course, I love the logo:)
